328 ~ Undersea Adventures

Your smile sets me in motion
Like tidal waves of a raging sea
These sunken treasures could never fill
This ocean of longing you leave in me
No amount of water can wash away
Memories of this, the discovery

Tracing the outline of your body
My hands feel like the softest of sins
Leaving indentations of my fingerprints
On the smooth sand of your skin
I’ll come crashing like waves against your shore
While you remain steady, I take you all in

But beware of drinking the water
As you taste the salt on my lips
One drink will leave you thirsty for more
You will not be able to stop at one sip
As the night current rocks to the rhythm of our bodies
When morning comes, away I will slip

So like a precious lost pearl
You’ll set your sails in search of the key
To the elusive oyster you once had
Digging through all the dirt and debris
X marking the spot of where you will find
A way to return, back into the shell of me

Tied to me tight tie me up again
who’s got their claws in you my friend
Into your heart I’ll beat again
crashLost for you I’m so lost for you
You come crash into me
And I come into you

  1. Thank you! I greatly appreciate your kind visit to my site, likewise, your generous comments! More power to your blog! With love maxima

  2. The raging sea!! Mm…This leaves me wondering (in a good way) is this a great bit of creative poetry or a statement? You can say no comment like a celebrity might if you prefer! 🙂 I like it a lot, it’s got some really good lines in there, and a sense of mysterious energy! If that makes sense?

You know that picture art blog I’ve got? Well, I’m sitting here writing this comment and I’ve got this strange gravatar liking a different picture approximately every 5 minutes – they’re up to 13 likes at the moment!! I’m thinking they are either very slow at deciding what pictures they like or they’ve got some kind of ‘like app’ doing the liking for them! Have you heard of apps like that? Sounds crazy, but there seems to be apps for everything now! I wondered if someone used one the other day after I posted the poem about flowers, and the video – they liked both within 15 seconds!! But maybe they were in a hurry! 🙂 I don’t blame them, it was a long poem, and maybe they’d sacrificed too much of their time reading great long poems and one more was too much!! When they invent an app that can make a comment – that will be very weird – but going by some of the language used in the spam I get, maybe they already have! 😀

    • A little bit of both perhaps 😉 And of course that makes sense, I can read your mind remember? lol.

I was going to message you yesterday that I had writer’s block and I needed your help… then I remembered your poem about flowers!

Well that was weird. Do they have apps for that now? I would think the spam blocker in place would catch it, or maybe they don’t catch ‘likes’ and only comments like they did with a fellow blogger here. They put Phil’s comment in my spam box when he has commented before. WordPress fail. Your poem was a bit lengthy, but if they were a fast reader (like me), they could have easily read it in a heartbeat. Not the video though unless they already knew what it was about. OR maybe, somebody just really likes what you post. I know I do. Maybe not 13+ in a row, but ya know… it’s not the first time I have started following you or the picture art blog. 🙂

  3. He has a great and delicate sound – as I think everyone pretty much has said…and love the explanation for the writing of the poem too – and the poem itself….”a way to return, back into the shell of me”…lovely close!
