306 ~ Dear John

You were just a man
On a bed, in a room
Conversations set ablaze
Fertilized friendship to bloom

Your body marked
Like broken glass
Music and words exchanged
Helped the hours to pass

You are a kaleidoscope
A tube of mismatched bits
But the way I saw you
The puzzle pieces all fit

Refracting the light
Shifting infinite forms
Of flowers and rainbows
Outside of the norm

Magically dividing cells
An illustrated art
Of fragmented pieces
That set you apart

You were just a man
Living oceans apart
That became a friend
I grew to know by heart

To my blogger friend John, hailing all the way from Australia. Thank you for always supporting me and for the engaging and stimulating conversations we continue to have on here. You dedicated a post to me awhile back, so here is one for you. You were one of the first few who saw this blog grow from 5 readers to 300. I hope you enjoy it, and know that you hold a very special place with me, no matter how many readers I have.

I will break into your thoughts

MACWith what’s written on my heart

  1. I enjoyed the positive thoughts in the poem. I understand the poem. Easy to make friendship and appreciate people we will never meet face to face. Thank you for the outstanding poetry and good music.

    • Thank you Mr Coyote ^_^ I’ve been enjoying my time here on WordPress. Lots of talented, intelligent, caring individuals. We all learn from each other and some just strike a chord with you.

  2. wow havent heard this song in forever. Good song but unfortunately it’s stapled to bad memories…. one cannot escape the queen of hearts until her red is reflected in pools…. but still very nice all and all. Perhaps I’ll take a page out of your book and send you a song with my next present to you….if you can bear to listen to it hahaha. okay…I’ve been coming online waaaay too often, it’s making me feel guilty about not writing for my own page. :/

    • Me too. For some reason I thought of that song last night, so I wanted it for this post. Send me a song! I like it when people do.

Hahaha J, maybe you should write when you feel the urge ^_^

  3. A poem for a blogging friend, that’s a lovely idea! Of course I don’t know the history behind this friendship, so I’m having to read between the lines here! πŸ™‚ I have seen a few poems for friends on blogs along these lines some months ago before I opened one, and I remember being fascinated by the fact that people would get to know each other that well, but I can understand why now. I suppose it’s like a lot of things in life you have to be in it to understand it! Some friends on blogs even say goodnight, which I think is very sweet! πŸ™‚

The writers site Jottify that I’ve been on for nearly 7 months, some of the really good writers have left recently over a few trivial things that were promised by the owner of the site that never really worked properly, to do with how the website works, (I think this happens every so often) and I kind of miss those who have left, even though I’ve never met any of them in the flesh! They were kind of virtual writing friends! πŸ˜€

    • He was one of the few who started the conversations rolling on my blog. I remember the first comment of us talking about La Vie en rose, music, rhythm in poetry. I believe you came around shortly after πŸ˜€

I love how friendship and inspiration can bloom from the online world. It’s a different kind of respect and relationship that I am enjoying at the moment. I rarely have these conversations in my every day life because I’m surrounded by a bunch of lazy, gossipy, rude people, that it’s just refreshing to see a different side of humanity, even if these people are miles away and would probably never see.

I’m going to miss your writing as frequently on here. I saw your last post >_< And there was a lady I call Mama Hen (AKA Hillbilly Zen), who one day lost internet access, and the last I heard from her, she was avoiding a prepubescent teen who was sick at the library, while trying to blog from there. I miss her too.

      • I know what you mean about people getting on your nerves, I try to avoid them as much as I can! πŸ˜† But I do have a couple of very good, non gossipy friends and a wonderful brother, they help me get through life!

I shall be publishing a post on Monday, have the posts already done! πŸ™‚ Hoping to post Monday’s and Thursdays from now on, but it may vary occasionally, if life gets a bit silly – or busy even!!

Just thought I’d mention that I didn’t know you had replied to this yet, as I’m not getting very many notifications of replies. They are all there, but I have to remember to go and find them – here we go again, WordPress reliability down the drain! πŸ˜€

        • Uuu, I can’t wait! I think your Monday is my Sunday due to the time difference maybe. I have yet to figure that all out.

I’m not sure what WordPress is up to. When I first started, I didn’t seem to have as many issues as I do now. And yes, my notifications are off as well.

  4. Hello! πŸ™‚ sorry it took so long to send the story I do not know if it was clear enough in the picture format I sent. Hopefully it was. I will try again if it was not.

  5. Dear Britt, you are so kind to me I hardly know what to say. In fact, I was so stunned all I did was read the comments and then listen to the song. I did not know this song….but it is perfect, and it is how I feel about stuff sometimes, “I’m so sick” is only part of it – it is the attempt to cry out from the heart, and I love the sound of it, the grunt. Rahburt is right – I am so lucky to have someone write such lovely words about whatever self it is of mine that comes out through my blog. And it is so nice to see you and Mouse meet….And, And, I just do not know what to say (and for someone who writes as much as I do, that is really saying something!).

Your reply to Suzy is powerful too – these online conversations let us cut past some stuff…..just disregard certain conventions…to get to whatever the point of our life at that point may be. I do no quite understand what I am going through at the moment, but you have been one of my kindest readers, and you have followed my blog through all of its crazy stuff. Thank you….so much.

  6. And yes, you definitely break into my thoughts with the purity and kindness of what is written in your heart….always.

  7. Reblogged this on writingthebody and commented:
These are the kindest words I think I have ever read from anyone about me, and as I say in comments to Britt’s blog, I am slightly stunned….
