When the battle scars start fading
Stitch armor vests around your heart
When bullet cases fall from firing
You’ll turn your pain into an art
You had the blueprints to my body
Mapped your feet all over the chart
You had the key to the secret garden
Now you’re locked out from that part
Time to take this silly rough draft
Full of holes from cupid’s darts
Time to create a better prototype
Give myself a fresh new start
Raising ink from the blank pages
Uninhibited, yet still on mark
Raising the voice from my own phoenix
That had laid dormant in the dark

That’s a beautiful combination of imagery – I like the way you weave violence, love and the diagrams we make (maps and blueprints) together. Lovely.
Aww, thank you S.L. Life isn’t always straightforward, we have to pave our own paths or change the roads we have traveled. Map them into they way we want them to be.
Yes and blueprints are all well and good but often there’s an important piece missing that makes the blueprint make no sense. 🙂
Blueprints are the like the bone and structure. Whatever else comes into the design or lack thereof will be small obstacles in the grande scheme of things. Or that’s what I’m willing to believe. 😉
Yes. the blueprint doesn’t take account of the meat of life. 🙂
And with meat comes flavour and meaning. 🙂

Just noticed your latin inscriptions…..praying that the healthy mind is in a healthy body; the other one….hmm… Virtue undergone for a tranquilil life. Or something. Sounds elegant the last one which is why I probably have it upside down, but it sounds like one of the stoics….. virtue bringing its own peace and all that….
Of all the things I want now, is just to be happy and healthy. And the only way to acquire that is through virtue, which I hope will bring peace.
