114 ~ Placerita Canyon

When building castles in sandboxes aren’t enough

You want to see trees with faces

Climb ones that look like a turkey

See squid faces out of water

Watch leaves cascade like curtains in shades of yellows and greens

See white tar pits bubble out of the ground

Where you can purchase fluffy things that sing bird songs to you…

Welcome to my World.

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

  1. I love the turkey tree, and the squid face!! 😀 And what’s the bubbling tar about?
And where can you buy cuddly toys – in a tree shop!?

That face at the base of the tree reminds me of a very bizarre children’s tea time programme in the 80’s. I was a little old by then to truly appreciate it, but strangely my Dad used to find it hilarious! 😀 The face I’m thinking of is the Willo The Wisp character – Mr long blue face! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43M55Ay6RKA

    • My brother always makes fun of me when I stop to take pictures of trees – he thinks they all look the same and that I’m wasting memory on my camera and desktop for these photos. *smh*

Not quite sure, but you can read about it here: http://www.scvhistory.com/scvhistory/sg022000e.htm

And there are videos of it. I was going to make a video, but I was kind of tired that day to stop to film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69Bpfo_DAPY

That is an odd children’s cartoon. 😯 I think it would have scared me if I were younger!

      • Fascinating stuff! I’ve never heard of oil coming out of the ground by itself, thought it always had to be dug deep to find it. But maybe that is how oil in the ground was discovered, because no-one would think to dig so deep for it otherwise. I shall have to run this past my brother – he will either know about it already (because he’s such a head full of knowledge) or he’ll be fascinated to know more! Thanks for that! 🙂

And the wind whispers...
