74 ~ Mishe Mokwa Trail to Sandstone Peak

088Me & Jp in the split rock ♥

There will be a part 2 to this tomorrow. We started the trail 2 hours behind schedule, no thanks to the boys. Due to the copious amount of drama involved in today’s hike, moving forward Adventure Time will be an exclusive Jenny and Britt Only Trip.

Onto the hike, this was a 6-7 mile loop trail and we ended up going the opposite direction that most people were taking. I’m glad we did though.

We made it!

The view from Sandstone Peak.

Balance Rock: it’s like the size of a house and it’s balancing itself on the one below it.

Split Rock: It’s a huge rock that has 3 natural splits in it.

I’ll post more pictures tomorrow. We got home late and I’m tired. 😦

  1. I’m glad you picked this hike for us. It really helped keep our minds off of things. And super happy that I didn’t make us turn around and head back to the car.

Thanks for finding the trail. I really appreciate it. 🙂

    • Next trip will be shorter, I promise. But we will get our hands a little dirty. 😉

Let’s alternate ok? One week short, one week long. And I still want to redo Bridge to Nowhere under our own terms this time.

  2. Back to the rocks again – you just can’t stay away from them too long!! 🙂 Loving the views again, and so much green in that picture too. No burnt bits on this trail then? Is the weather better now, and when do you officially turn into autumn where you are, October or a bit later?

    • We don’t get much rain so the waterfall trails suck. I never thought I would love rocks so much until this year! There’s just something about them. 😉 Officially autumn as of September, but the weather sure doesn’t feel like it. :/ Still very hot some days.

And the wind whispers...
