Inter Unum Somnium et Aliud

Once upon a time, there was a girl who saw the moon

Every time the sun slept it would make its’ appearance known

In a portrait framed by window ledges

The soft glow initiating dreams putting her body to rest

Once upon a time, there was a girl who saw the moon

But she started to notice that it no longer waited for the sun to retire

It laid there against the bright sky, a hazy fata morgana

An image that rivaled the star in the center of the universe

So often that the girl started to wonder why

Once upon a time, there was a girl who saw the moon

So she turned her face to the sky and asked

Dear moon, why do you wake during the day?

To which the moon replied

Dear girl, why do you dream with eyes wide open?

“All people dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their mind, wake in the morning to find that it was vanity. But the dreamers of the day are dangerous people. For they dream their dreams with open eyes and make them come true.” – D.H. Lawrence

  1. I have two words for you …………………………..

    ……. wait for it …………………………………………….

    Loves it ♥

    • Everyone has a choice on what they deem is the appropriate way to live their life. No one can make that decision for them since it is a personal journey but we should all dream – whether it be in sleep or fully awake. Some can inspire us or shed light onto what’s really going on in the deep recesses of ones mind.

  2. Very thoughtful point that, and I’ve often wondered why the moon can be seen sometimes along with the sun! I shall remember this next time I see them together! 😀
And I love the quote – very true that – dreamers of the day are dangerous people. Then we must be very dangerous!! 😉

And the wind whispers...
